How to Make Ponche de Malta - Video
By samiaali
Ponche de Malta (malt punch) is a beverage that many Puerto Rican mothers used to give to their children. It is made with malta, which is a malt beverage and is nonalcoholic. Puerto Ricans commonly refer to malta is 'cerveza negra' (black beer). This is a sweet beverage and it it very delicious!
INGREDIENTS:
2 tbsp. sugar
2 egg yolks
1 bottle malta (any brand)
Tall glass with ice
1. In an empty glass, pour the sugar and the egg yolks. Stir very, very well with a tablespoon until the sugar and egg are well-blended.
2. Slowly add in the malta. It will form a head on it just the way regular beer does. When the head goes down a little, pour in the rest of the malta. Stir very well.
3. Pour the ponche into the glass with ice.
Enjoy!

This looks interesting. We have something similar to malta here, it's called Suparmalt, I think it's probably the same thing? Might give this a try, it sounds nice, and nutritious too.
